DECO: When white works

Questo bel libro che ho ricevuto lo scorso Natale, "At home with white" di Atlanta Bertlett e Karena Callen, mi è stato di grande aiuto quando ho dovuto arredare la mia nuova casa, perché come è scritto nell'introduzione, non importa tanto quale sia il tuo stile personale, il bianco può comunque andare sempre bene in tutte le case. Le fotografie sono di Polly Wreford e sono davvero belle (dettaglio per me importante quando compro un libro di arredamento) e ci sono tanti suggerimenti e consigli molto interessanti e facili da mettere in pratica. Quindi, se vuoi arredare casa tua e e non sai che tinta scegliere, credimi, scegli il bianco e non sbagli mai!

This beautiful book I received last Christams, "At home with white" by Atlanta Bertlett and Karena Callen, helped me a lot while I was decorating my new house, because as it says, no matter what your presonal style happens to be, white can work in every home. The images, by Polly Wreford, are really very nice (and this is very important for me when I buy a decorating book) and there are many interesting&easy-to-do advices and hints. So, if you want do decorate your house, believe me, choose white and you will never mistake!

IN TOWN: Fun spot

La Pasticceria San Gregorio è una delle mie preferite a Milano e guardate cosa si sono inventati per farsi pubblicità: hanno parcheggiato, proprio di fronte al loro negozio, una vecchia Fiat 500, pitturata di giallo e verde con un uovo gigante sul portapacchi: stupenda!!!!

Pasticceria San Gregorio is one of my fav. confectioner's shop in Milan and look what they have done as a advertising spot, right in the street where they have their shop: a beautiful old Fiat 500 car, in yellow and green, with on the top an extra-big Easter egg: wonderful!!!!

FASHION: My stripes look

Adoro le maglie a righe, non so quante ne ho nel mio armadio (ed è meglio NON contarle...). Oggi quindi ho scelto la maglia a righe bianche e rosse di Gap e l'ho abbinata ai pantaloni blu chiaro di Promod (è un marchio di moda molto economico ma ha un cottone di ottima qualità!), il giaccone di lana grigio di Gap, ballerine di Zara, borsa di Tosca Blu e collana di Topshop. Vi piace?

I love stripes, I don't know how many stripes t-shirts I have (and I think it's better NOT count them...). So, today I mixed my Gap red and white stripes t-shirt with clear blue Promod trousers (this is very cheap fashion label but its cotton has a very good quality!), Gap gray wool jacket, Zara shoes, Tosca Blu bag and Topshop necklace. Do you like it?

BEAUTY: Vitaminic music

Oggi qui a Milano è una giornata stupenda, sole, cielo blu e 15°C. E' incredibile constatare quanto il tempo possa influenzare il nostro umore (ecco perché il prossimo inverno vorrei andare a vivere per un po' nel nord-più-estremo-e-buio, giusto per vedere cosa potrei diventare!). Dunque, è ora di passare a colori più vitaminici nella scelta dei miei vestiti e del trucco. Questi sono due nuovi prodotti di Revlon e le loro tinte sono proprio quello che cerco. Giallo e grigio per l'ombretto ColorStay 16 hour e e arancio per il gloss Tutti frutti, direi perfetti. Ed è carino, sul retro della confezione dell'ombretto, il disegno che ti spiega come usarlo, soprattutto per me che non sono proprio un asso con gli ombretti...

Today here in Milan is a beautiful day, sunny, blu sky and 15°C. It's amazing how much the weather can influence our mood (that's why the next Winter I want to go and live in deep-extreme-24h-dark-Nord, I'm very curious to see what I'll became!). So, it's time for vitaminic colours for clothes and make-up. These are new products by Revlon and I like their energizer nuance. Gray and yellow for the ColorStay 16 hour eye shadow and orange for Tutti frutti lip butter, simply perfect. Is absolutely a must the picture that explains you how to use it on the other side of the eye shadow, veeeeeery important especially for me 'cause I'm not so clever with it...

JEWELS: Stone's power

Molta gente crede che le pietre esercitino un certo potere, una sorta di energia che possa influire sull'umore e la salute di chi le porta. Le pietre possono essere indossate come gioielli oppure come elemento decorativo di un abito, e ho letto su un libro che in passato le pietre venivano tritate e bevute in pozioni come delle medicine! Un po' di tempo fa ho comprato da H&M questo bel bracciale rigido, mi piace la sua forma e il suo colore; non so che pietra sia quindi non conosco i suoi poteri ed effetti, so solo che ogni volta che indosso questo gioiello mi sento molto bene ;)

Many people think that stones have a kind of power, a sort of energy that can influence the mood and health of people who use them. It can be a stone of a jewel or a stone of a cloth you wear, and I read in a book that in the past people used to eat them as medicine! Months ago I bought this bracelet in a H&M shop, I like very much its design and its colour; I don't know the name of the stone so I don't know what is its power, but every time I wear it I feel very good ;)
