IBIZA: Sail away...la-la-laaaa

Sono stata in questa spiaggia paradisiaca, Cala Bassa, e mi è venuto spontaneo cantare quella canzone meravigliosa di David Gray, Sail away...

I have been in this idyllic beach, called Cala Bassa, and I started to sing that beautiful song by David Gray, that goes like this:

IBIZA: Just close your eyes...

Ti alzi presto, le ultime notizie, corri, ufficio, incontri, chiamate, lavoro, la spesa, cucini, organizzi, pulisci...ed è già di nuovo sera e ti sembra di non aver fatto niente per te. Allora ricordi quella spiaggia con quei lettini a baldacchino-soffici- sulla-spiaggia, chiudi gli occhi e ti sembra di essere ancora lì...

Wake up early, news, running, office, meetings, calls, work, shopping, cooking, planning, cleaning...and it's already evening and it's like you have done nothing for you. Then you remember that beach with those amazing soft-sofas-on-the-beach, close your eyes and it's like you are still there...

IBIZA: Love lighthouse

Mi sono sempre piaciuti i fari e so che ce ne sono molti nei quali si può anche dormire come un piccolo albergo speciale. Questo è il bellissimo faro sulla costa nord di Ibiza, a Portinatx. Chissà quante tempeste avrà visto negli anni, quante navi avrà aiutato con la sua luce di notte, quante storie potrebbe raccontare...

I have always loved lighthouses and I know there are many where you can sleep in like a very special small hotel. This is the beautiful one in the deep north in Ibiza island, Portinatx. And I wonder how many storms it saw, how many boats it helped with its light in the night, how many stories it could say...

IBIZA: Octopus invasion!

Ok, niente panico, è solo un polipo di sabbia, ma quando l'ho visto dalla strada sembrava davvero un gigantesco-orribile-polipo uscito da qualche film dell'orrore. Ogni giorno sulla spiaggia di San Antoni c'è un ragazzo (molto timido, non ha voluto che gli facessi una foto!) che crea con la sabbia delle sculture molto grandi. Ieri era una sirena, oggi questo polipo, domani vuole fare Homer Simpson. Onestamente mi sfugge il collegamento, ma è arte, sai com'è...

Ok, no panic, it's only sand octopus, but ehi, when I saw it from the street it  looked like a REAL super-big-hugly-octopus! Every day on the San Antoni beach there is a guy (very shy, he didn't want me to take him a pic!) who creates big sand sculptured. Yesterday it was a mermaid, today this octopus and tomorrow he wants to make Homer Simpson. Honestly I don't see a link, but it's art, you know...

IBIZA: Walk&Taste (3)

Ti ricordi il cartone dei Flintstones quando mangiavano quelle mega bistecche di dinosauro? Bene, io mi sono sentita esattamente come Wilma ("passami-la-clava") quando ho mangiato questa coscia gigantesca di dinosauro. Ok, non era dinosauro (ma và?) ma sembrava. Quindi, se vuoi sentirti per un giorno un vero Flintstoniano (e mangiare un piatto di carne alla griglia strepitoso con due tipi diversi di insalata e una bella pannocchia) vai al bar/ristorante rockettaro chiamato Ibiza Rock, proprio sul lungomare di S. Antoni! Per un pranzo veloce sulla spiaggia di Cala Bassa (e decisamente più leggero) ho anche provato questa insalata golosa fatta con avocado, ananas e gamberetti. Molto buona, ma vietato mangiare il pappagallo, ok? :)

Do your remember that cartoon called The Flintstones where people used to eat extra-big dinosaur steak? Well, I felt like Wilma ("bring-me -the-cudgel") when I have eaten this dinosaur leg. Ok, it was not a dinosaur, but it looked like it. So, if you want to have the same feeling (and eat a very great bbq-steak with two different types of vegetables and corn) go to a very rock bar/restaurant on the promenade of S. Antoni called Ibiza Rock! For a quick (and light) lunch I also tried on the beach Cala Bassa this very attractive salad made with avocado, pineapple and shrimps. Super healthy and good, but ehi, don't eat also the parrot, ok? :)

IBIZA: Shai at the sun

Oggi è solo il 21 di Maggio e qui a Ibiza c'è il sole e ben 38°C! Non posso immaginare come possa essere durante l'estate, e intendo soprattutto nei mesi di luglio e agosto. In ogni caso, con questo bel sole la bevanda migliore da sorseggiare è una bella tazza di tè, che in arabo chiamano "shai", meglio ancora se servito in uno dei questi bei bicchieri di vetro dorati che ho visto a Eivissa città.

Today it's only the 21th of May and here in Ibiza it's a sunny day, 38°C! I can't image on how it's here during the Summer, and I mean on July and August. Btw, it's so nice that the perfect drink under the sun is a cup of tea, in arabic called "shai", better if in one if this golden glass that I saw in Eivissa city.

IBIZA: Chosen!

Appena fuori San Antoni c'è una bellissima spiaggia chiamata Cala Gracio. Il mare è cristallino e azzurro chiaro, la sabbia sembra cipria talmente è fine e in alto alla scogliera che sovrasta questa spiaggia c'è una casa strepitosa! Direi che è perfetta, proprio quella che cercavo qui a Ibiza. Ora il (piccolo!) problema consiste nel trovare il vero proprietario e convincerlo a vendermela... Qualche idea?

Closed to San Antoni there is a beautiful small beach, called Cala Gracio. Clear blue sea, powder sand and an amazing house on the top! So ok, I can say that I founded MY new house in Ibiza. The (small!) problem now is to find out the real owner and convince him/her to sell it to me... Any idea?
