IBIZA: Like a painting

In questo mese dell’anno Ibiza è un’incredibile isola piena di fiori, un tripudio di fiori, e i loro colori sembrano ancora più brillanti e vivaci proprio grazie al contrasto con il blu del cielo e con il bianco candido di tutte le case. E questo contrasto cromatico è davvero meraviglioso, qualcosa che in Italia si può trovare solo nel sud, di certo non a Milano! Questa foto è un dettaglio di una pianta stupenda fiorita nel giardino della casa in cui vivo, e notate che meraviglia di cielo blu sullo sfondo! Non è perfetto per un quadro?

In this month of the year Ibiza is an incredibile island full of flowers, and their colours look more bright than ever because the blue sky and the white of all the houses. The contrast is wonderful, something that in Italy you can see only in the south, surly not in Milan! This is a detail of the tree in the garden of the house where I live, and please, note the deep blue of the sky! Isn’t it simply perfect for a painting?

IBIZA: Sandy, I'm coming!

Vi ricordate la canzone “People from Ibiza” di Sandy Marton? Bene, ho deciso di diventare anch’io parte di quella tribù. Quindi, ho buttato nella borsa qualche maglietta, bikini e infradito ed eccomi, ci siamo chicos! Sono sul volo delle 7,10 del mattino, il che significa che sono arrivata all’aeroporto alle 6,00, ho preso il bus alle 5,00, mi sono svegliata alle 4,30… ma che importa? Avrò ben 3 settimane in questa isola meravigliosa e tempo in abbondanza per dormire, leggere, scrivere, camminare, godermi l’isola e divertirmi con nuovi amici! Non vedo l’ora, e ora, giusto un sonnellino ;)

Do you remember that song “People from Ibiza” by Sandy Marton? Well, I decided to become one of that people from Ibiza. So, just packed some t-shirts, bikini and sandals and here we go, chicos! I’m on the fly of 7,10 am, that means I arrived in airport at 6,00 am, took the bus at 5,00 am, woke up at 4,30 am…but who cares? I’ll have 3 great weeks in this magic island and surly time for sleeping, reading, writing, walking, enjoying the island and new friends! Can’t wait, and now, just a short nap ;)

FOOD: Early happiness

E’ proprio vero che si cambia idea così tante volte! Quando ero piccola odiavo ogni tipo di porridge, probabilmente perché mia mamma lo cucinava nella maniera sbagliata, fatto sta che era sempre privo di qualsiasi sapore, era troppo caldo, troppo bianco, troppo tutto! Ma ora, cucinami per colazione il porridge con la panna, il miele e delle fragole fresche e mi rendi di prima mattina la ragazza più felice!

It’s so true that we change mind so often! When I was a baby I ate any kind of porridge, probably because my mom didn’t cook in the right way: it was always complitely without flavour, too hot, too white, too everything!. But now, cook me for breakfast a porridge with cream, honey and fresh strawberries and you make me the most happy girl in the early morning!

FASHION: Vintage's advantages

Stai cercando un nuovo vestito per una serata speciale? O magari qualcosa di diverso e unico, meglio ancora se è anche economico? Corri in un negozio vintage! La prima volta che ho visto un negozio vintage ero a Parigi, avevano vestiti incredibili con modelli e colori fantastici, e ogni capo era così economico che non ricordo più quanti ne ho comprati! Anche se ora molti di questi negozi sono diventati più cari di quelli normali perché la moda vintage è diventata una vera mania, puoi ancora trovare in giro tanti negozietti di seconda mano economici e interessanti, oltre ai mercatini delle pulci, veri tesori spesso pieni di meraviglie. E non preoccuparti se quando trovi un abito la taglia non è la tua, puoi poi sempre dargli una sistemata, quello che conta è la forma e il colore. Di recente ho comprato questo abito in un mercatino dell’usato, mi piace quel suo mix di turchese e nero e la linea anni ’50. Ogni volta che lo indosso le mie amiche mi chiedono il nome dello stilista!

Are you looking for a new dress for a special evening? Or maybe just something different and unique, better if cheap? Run to a vintage shop! The first I saw in my life was in Paris years ago, they had incredibile dresses with lines and colours so chic and elegant, and every cloth was so cheap that I don’t remember how many things I bought! Even if now many vintage shops become more expensive than the normal fashion shops because they are so trendy and in, you can still find some very cheap&chic shops and fun fleamarkets with nice old collections. And don’t worry if the size of a dress you like is not yours, you can always change some details; what really count are the style and the colour. I bought this dress in a fleamarket, I like its mixed green and black colour, and every time I wear it all my friends ask me who is the fashion designer!

FOOD: Tactical recipe!

Adoro i pic-nic! Sono un’idea molto carina per incontrare i tuoi amici, mangiare qualcosa tutti insieme e godersi la natura (cosa che a Milano suona sempre molto strano). Ecco gli ingredienti fondamentali:

-piatti di plastica (più leggeri da trasportare)

-posate di acciaio (quelle di plastica si rompono subito dopo la prima forchettata!)

-un vecchio lenzuolo (l’erba umida fa svanire l’entusiasmo dopo pochi minuti!)

-cibi buoni facili da mangiare seduti per terra (quindi, vietate le zuppe brodose!)

-vino rosso (quello bianco si scalda subito e diventa quindi imbevibile), Mojito Soda (già pronto e molto buono) e/o birra (ma solo se il parco è vicino altrimenti stesso effetto del vino bianco)

-una macchina fotografica

-ultimo ma non meno importante, un frisbee (a tutti piace ed è un ottimo alleato per conoscere i vicini di pic-nic ;)

I love picnic! It’s a very nice idea for meeting friends, eating something together open-air and enjoy the nature (and in Milan it always sounds quite strange). Here the basic ingredients:

-plastic plates (more light to carry on)

-steel cutlery (the plastic never work and always break so soon!)

-a old sheet (the damp grass takes away all the enthusiasm after a while!)

-good food easy to eat (so, absolutely no broth soup!)

-red wine (the white becames warm in a few seconds, so no more good to drink), Mojito soda (ready to drink and very good!) and/or beer (but only if the park is very closed!)

-camera

-last but not leats a frisbee (it’s always fun, and a very good help if you want to konw your picnic neighbours;)

MOOD: Small details/Big differences

A volte piccoli dettagli fanno una grande differenza. Una cosa, per esempio, è mangiare dei pasticcini magari camminando da qualche parte o guardando un film, una cosa invece è mangiare dei dolcetti presentati su un bel piatto antico, comprato in un mercatino dell'antiquariato per pochi euro, ma con raffinati decori floreali e dettagli dorati su fine porcellana! Prova e poi mi dirai se ho ragione!

Sometimes small details make big differences. One thing, for ex., is just eat sweets maybe walking somewhere or watching a movie, one thing is eat sweets in a very nice old plate, bought in a flea-market for a few euros but with a very elegant golden and flower decoration on porcelain! Try it and then let me know if I'm right ;)
