IN TOWN: What's today's date?

Adoro i cordiandoli di Carnevale, mi danno sempre l'idea di festa, voglia di divertirsi e mi fanno ricordare momenti speciali vissuti negli anni. Oggi ce n'erano così tanti piazza Duomo che per un attimo ho avuto dei dubbi su che giorno fosse!

I like confetti, they are typical of Carnival and they always remind me joy, party and special events I lived through the years. Today there were so many of them in Duomo square, that for a moment I didn't know what was today's date!

FASHION: Focus on the bases!

Molti di voi mi hanno scritto e chiesto in cosa sia meglio "investire" in questi mesi: comprare tanti abiti e accessori delle nuove collezioni P/E 2012 (magari quelli più economici ma sicuramente tanti) oppure pochi pezzi (certamente più cari ma che durano anni)? Il mio consiglio: puntare sui pezzi base! Investite in quegli abiti e accessori che-non-passano-mai-di-moda-perché-sono-dei-classici! Un esempio? Il trench della Burberry: un pezzo base, semplicemente perfetto sempre e di sicuro per sempre :)

Many of you wrote and asked me in what is better to "invest" today: in many new S/S 2012 clothes and accessories (maybe they are cheap but you can buy many) or in just few pieces (expensive but that last for years)? My advice: focus on the bases! Invest in those ever-green-because-base-pieces! One f.e? Burberry trench: basic, classic, simply perfetc always and surly for ever :)

FOOD: Fast, fast!

Mi piace molto cucinare, ma mi piace farlo con calma. Oggi vado di fretta e per pranzo ho improvvisato in pochi minuti. Piadina arrotolata con formaggio spalmabile e bresaola, e puntarelle condite con olio e acciughe. Super veloce e buono!

I like very much to cook, but I also like to do it taking time. Today is a such busy day that I got lunch ready in a few minutes. Rolled piadina with cream-cheese and cured raw beef, and puntarelle (the leaf-buds of chicory) with oil and anchovies. Super fast, so good!

BEAUTY: Spring (almost...)

Mi piace l'inverno, il freddo, il vento, la neve, e in generale quello spirito più rilassato e tranquillo tipico dei mesi invernali. Mi piacciono le tinte neutre della natura e l'idea, a gennaio, di poter ricominciare di nuovo la tua vita con nuovi progetti, sogni e desideri. MA quando arriva marzo, dopo mesi di inverno, comincio davvero a sentire il bisogno di prepararmi almeno mentalmente all'arrivo-si-spera-presto-della-primavera. Un aiuto arriva dalla moda, con le sue nuove collezioni P/E dai colori vivaci, e anche dalle novità nel mondo beauty. Questi sono due prodotti di Revlon, creati con colori molto primaverili. Lo smalto Scented parfumé Colada Fizz è di un azzurro chiarissimo, che ricorda molto il mare caraibico, l'altro è un lib butter strawberry shortcake in una bella nuance rosa floreale. Stupendi, e fanno già un po' primavera!

I like Winter time, its cold, wind, snow, and its more relaxed mood. I like the neutral colours of the nature and the idea on January that you can start again your life with new projects, dreams, wishes. BUT on March, after months of Winter, I really need to be focused on the up-coming-soon-Spring-season. A help comes from the new S/S fashion collections, so full of bright and vivid colours, and also from the beauty's world. These are Revlon products, with very Spring's mood colours. Scented parfumé nail called Colada Fizz in clear blue like the Caribbean sea, and a lib butter strawberry shortcake with a very flower pink nuance. Wonderful, and it looks like Spring!

MOOD: Softy-Sunday

Milano è una città interessante, durante la settimana ci sono tante cose che si possono fare, vedere, sentire, assaggiare e comprare, ma poi durante il weekend mi piace andare fuori città. Sento sempre il bisogno di cambiare aria e scenario, ecco perché normalmente o vado in campagna o visito qualche città nei dintorni. Ma ci sono anche dei weekend durante i quali magari mi sento troppo stanca per mettermi in viaggio, e allora mi piace stare a casa e godermi la giornata con i suoi ritmi più rilassati. Amo dormire tante ore diseguito (senza l'incubo della sveglia) e svegliarmi molto tardi, proprio quando senti che sei super riposata; poi mi piace concedermi il piccolo vizio di fare la colazione in centro, da Arnold, con i pancakes e il latte macchiato al caramello, e al pomeriggio leggere un nuovo libro sdraiata sul divano. Questo si intitola "Solo pane" di Judi Hendricks, storia deliziosa da leggere tutta d'un fiato.

Milan is an interesting town during the week, there are always many things you can do, see, hear, taste and buy, but during the weekend I usually escape. I need to change air and to see different views, that's why I like to go or to the country-side or to visit and see other towns. Bu there are also some weekends when I feel too tired, so I love to stay at home and just enjoy the time that goes by, breathing with a different rhythm than during the week. I like to sleep hours and hours (without the nightmare of clock allarm) and wake me up very late; then my small vice is making breakfast downtown at Arnold, with caramel macchiato and pancakes, and spending the afternoon reading a new book on the sofa. This is "Bread alone" by Judi Hendricks, a lovely story to read in a sitting.
