DECO: Crystal ball

It's so true that sometimes for the nice things you must wait, even if it's not so easy (especially for me that I always want all at once!). When I bought my house in Milan I wanted an old crystal chandelier for the living-room, the one I liked was on sale in a antique shop but with a prize too-over-budget for me. So I don't know how many times I went to check in the antique-shop's window if "my" chandelier was still on sale, while I was trying to save money for buying it. After one year (the prize of the candelier in the shop was always the same and I still didn't have money enough for it) in a very small and unkwon shop I founded the same chandelier with a very-very-cheaper prize. So I just checked that it was a crystal chandelier (and not glass), then I bought it. And now it is finally in my living-room (the other chandelier is still on sale...)

MY JEWELS: I.w.y.b? (part.1)

In what do you believe today? In yourself, nature, God, luck? Or maybe in money, stars, Buddah, success? In the past it was easier, all the people used to believe in the same values because the comformism and the tradition, but now? I started creating a new bijoux collection with the symbols of the values people have today, and I called it "In what you believe?". Are you vegetarian and do you believe in the stars, are these your favourite symbols today? In my next posts, more symbols and more bijoux.

IN TOWN: Fratelli Rossetti style

Today I was walking in Montenapoleone street corner Matteotti street, and I saw that Fratelli Rossetti are renewing their boutique. So, shop windows cover, but not as always it happens with dark paper, but with beautiful fashion drawings. The artist who has made them is Rebecca Moses, who presented her book "A Life of Style" right in the same boutique one year ago (and I have my copy with her autograph ;) Anna Wintour, about her book, said that both playful and thoughtful, Rebecca Moses brings a wonderfully touch to her serious sense of style.

MOOD: Shelley&Flowers

Da "A un'allodola" di Percy Bysshe Shelley

Quel che sei non sappiamo,
cosa è simile a te?
Non versa arcobaleno gocce tanto lucenti
come piovon da te le melodie.
Come un poeta occulto
nel pensiero fulgente
canti liberamente
in accordo col mondo
fra timori e speranze prima ignoti;
come fanciulla nobile
che in una torre plachi
angosce di passione
in segreto con musiche
care d'amore ch'empiono il suo nido;
come lucciola d'oro
in rugiada di valle
nascosta all'occhio sparge

From "To A Skylark" by Percy Bysshe Shelley

What thou art we know not;
what is most like thee?
From rainbow clouds there flow not
drops so bright to see,
as from thy presence showers a rain of melody.
Like a poet hidden,
in the light of thought,
singing hymns unbidden,
till the world is wrought
to sympathy with hopes and fears it heeded not;
like a high-born maiden
in a palace tower,
soothing her love-laden
soul in secret hour
with music sweet as love, which overflows her bower;
like a glow-worm golden
in a dell of dew,
scattering unbeholden
its aerial hue
among the flowers and grass, which screen it from the view

FOOD: Just a kiss

Puro paradiso!

It's small but big enough, is sweet and better at the same time, is cheap and you can find it everywhere. All the italians know it, everyone has had it as a present at least once. Its name is Bacio, that in italian means kiss, and it has inside a small paper with a short love poem, written in different languages. When I just need a break, a monent for me, a sweet hug of dark chocolate. Pure paradise!
